Perfection -- and worth the wait!

Having cooked on this new cooktop for 6 weeks, I can happily report that I am enjoying it more than I did my Dacor (on which I experienced a scary igniter failure). Some of expressed concern about the arrangement of the burners and their BTU levels, but that is magic in my view. There is so much customization available that it takes a bit of time to readjust what to cook where -- but that's part of the fun in my opinion. The "stops" that exist between levels of flame, as well as the numbers assigned to each, make it easy to remember what number flame to use next time for that purpose. The only worry I have is scratches because the installer caused one near that simmer burner while setting the cap on and of course now that is there forever, sadly. I had to wait for this model to return to inventory, but the wait was worth it. Highly recommend this Bosch Benchmark model for its beauty, sure, but also for its performance and ease of use!

Overrated Performance

We purchased the NGMP659UC range on 3/18/2025. After our plumber installed the range, we had problems with orfices for the propane gas conversion. They were to be color codes, as each burner has specific design criterea. We had three (3) service calls and numerous attempts to get the proper orfices installed. The stainless steel top scratches easily and is not designed for high use kitchens. Shortly after our initial request for tech support and service, Bosch provided name of appliance vendors that were no longer in business and/or did not want to perform work on Bosch appliances. We requested to speak with supervisors and were continually rebuffed. All we wanted to do, is speak with a management level supervisor, and share our concerns.

Great-looking Cooktop With a Few Functional Quirks

This cooktop has a really sleek, attractive design. The grates feel substantial without being overly tall, and the continuous stainless‑steel surface makes cleaning incredibly easy since the burners are fully enclosed. In terms of performance, I tend to rely on the higher‑BTU burners. They heat quickly and work well for most of my cooking. The lower‑BTU burners, however, take noticeably longer, so I don't find myself using them often. One small inconvenience is that I have to push down the knobs twice to ignite the flame, which isn't a deal‑breaker but is worth noting. Overall, it's a stylish and easy‑to‑maintain cooktop with strong high‑heat performance, but a couple of usability details could be improved.

I really like quality of this cooktop. I purchased it because I know Bosch has always produced top-notch products in my chosen price range. In particular, I really wanted metal knobs. So many cooktops I looked at had plastic knobs. I also appreciate that this cooktop has excellent pads on the grids. My old one had very small pads that tended to shift around, and I had to be extremely careful to replace them carefully after cleaning or they would scratch the stainless steel. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish the simmer burner was located at the back of the unit instead of the front, since I don't use it very often. That is ony a minor issue for me, however.

A long wait, but worth it

We had to wait a long while for our cooktop to arrive. In the meantime we had a 'loaner', made by a competitior (initials KA) and it was not satisfactory. The grates were too heavy to life on the loaner and the BTUs were inadequate. The Bosch has been a MUCH better cooktop and well worth the wait.

We are so glad we bought the Bosch cooktop! The grills are substantive, but not nearly as heavy as other manufacturers. The fact that you must turn and push down the knobs to light is a safety feature when you have small children around. The central, adaptive flame burner is brilliant. Great quality. Superior engineering.

An outstanding cooktop!

I have had this cooktop for 3 months now. I had it converted to liquid propane. I have been consistently impressed with the even heating, the ability to simmer on the bottom left burner, and the LED readout for temperature settings on each burner. I also splurged further and bought the griddle that pairs with the right two burners. The recommeded temperature settings on the documentation have been spot on. It has been a lovely addition to my kitchen. My only wish is that the burner paired with the range hood like the induction cooktop does. It would be wonderful to have to hood automatically turn on when a burner is activated. However, this is truly a minor concern!

The BOSCH Benchmark Gas Cooktop NGMP659UC works very good. We are happy with the style clean design. The burner work good to the very low simmer to a fast hot center burner for big pots. We like that the range of the big burner can adjust very low as needed, but will boil water quickly on High. The knobs, detents and labeling is very clear. We are happy with the cook top.

We've been aware of Bosch products for years, as a real estate agent in southern CA I see a lot of upscale homes where the kitchens have been updated. Bosch is found in many locations around here, and when we were researching what to replace our electric (someone shoot me) cooktop we were very convinced that we needed something where (1) you could READ the settings (whoever decided that printing 4pt light grey on black was a good idea..) (2) had an LED readout and (3) you could actually clean and not screw up - we found this cooktop which ticked all the boxes. Installation was a breeze and it works like a charm.

Nice looking but super flawed

First off when you tirn the knobs, you have to press down very hard to ignitre the gas and so its very easy to get a get leak because you hear the click and see the light so you think its on but its not...super dangerous!! Then the smallest burners are in the back which get used the least. the person who designed this range definately doesnt cook often. With a name like Bosch, I expected better.

Bought this to replace 15 year old Bosch. They have addressed the problems of the old one. The numbers rubbed off on the old one and the knobs were plastic. This one has metal knobs and there is a protective plate so the numbers will not wear off. I like the front left 'melting' burner. Great for melting cheese.
